Greg Shoemaker leads the Printing and Personal Systems Group Procurement organization. Greg’s organization is responsible for global strategic components such as memory, hard disk drives, microprocessors and software, representing approximately $33B in spend.
Greg also chairs the HP Procurement Council, which is responsible for developing HP’s procurement policies, best practice implementation, and creation of strategic supplier programs. As a key member of the HP-Compaq integration team, Greg was directly responsible for identifying the best procurement practices of both companies and developing strategies for the successful integration and value capture for the new procurement team.
Through Greg’s leadership, the HP procurement team received Purchasing Magazine’s Medal of Excellence in 2004 and the Institute of Supply Management and R. Gene Richter Award for Leadership and Innovation in Supply Management in2008. HP was a finalist for the Franz Edelman award for Operations Research in 2007. Greg’s procurement team has also been recognized for its supply chain social and responsibility efforts.
Greg has over 27 years of experience with HP/Compaq in various roles including Product Engineering, Material Engineering, Quality, and Procurement. Prior to joining Compaq, Greg was a mechanical design engineer specializing in oilfield equipment design.
Greg is a graduate of the University of Houston holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Greg also holds a Masters in Business Administration from LeTourneau University. Greg has served on the Board of Directors for the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council.
