Meet speaker: Paul D. Peters

Paul Peters is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness. He is responsible for development of the Department’s logistics strategy and global supply chain management policies, provides oversight for inventory management, distribution, disposal and anti-counterfeit strategies and execution, development of logistics human capital strategies, has policy oversight of automated information technology for improved asset tracking and intransit visibility, and is the Logistics Chair for international logistics cooperation in global supply chain with U.S. allies. He assumed his current position in January 2010.

Mr. Peters’ federal service also includes major assignments with the Defense Logistics Agency, Navy and Air Force. He has led major programs and activities in the areas of disposal reengineering, distribution execution, major automated information systems modernization, logistics operations, supply operations, human capital management, and audit. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and has twice been recognized as a Top 100 Federal Executive.

Prior to entering Federal Service, he was a corporate auditor and tax accountant with Arthur Andersen & Company. Mr. Peters was selected for membership in the Senior Executive Service in 2006.
